Women's Business Centers (WBCs) represent a national network of over 100 educational centers designed to assist women with starting and growing small businesses. WBC’s operate with the mission to "level the playing field" for women entrepreneurs, who still face unique obstacles in the world of business. Since April 2011, the Women’s Business Center of Kentucky hosted by Community Ventures Corporation has provided individual counseling, group training and special events designed to support women small business owners.

The WOSB Advantage

We are pleased to introduce the new training module, “The WOSB Advantage”– A Guide to the
Women Owned Small Business Program. The training program is featured both in the Government
Contracting Classroom ( and on the Women Owned Businesses webpage

The self-paced online module, which runs about 22 minutes, is designed to encourage and help women
entrepreneurs take advantage of the new WOSB program.  It includes a comprehensive overview of the
program; instructions on how to self-certify or engage a third party certifier; and, an extensive
menu of resources, including live links to all applicable forms and websites.

“The WOSB Advantage” is one of several new training courses featured in the Government
Contracting Classroom and is designed to help small firms win federal contracts.
