Using Technology for Your Business Success

The Challenge

The world needs more entrepreneurs. They start and run the small businesses
that are the engine of the global economy. All together, microenterprises employ more people—and create more jobs—than any other type of venture. Microenterprises are also hotbeds of innovation. They are a vital source of groundbreaking ideas, and a catalyst for changes that affect how larger companies and even industries work. But too many
aspiring entrepreneurs lack the business and information technology skills to turn their great ideas and ambition into thriving businesses.

The  roadblocks are numerous. Educational systems haven’t yet evolved to meet the demands of the 21st century. Access to basic training and technologies is limited. And economic and cultural forces are stacked against recent graduates, particularly women.

The Opportunity

It’s a simple yet powerful equation. By training recent graduates, aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners on essential business and IT skills, we can change millions of lives worldwide.

Technology and business training

HP believes technology is vital to this effort. Through the power of technology, microenterprises can broaden their services, connect with wider audiences, be more efficient and drive growth.

Technology also offers ways to broaden the reach and effectiveness of training beyond
the classroom, dramatically expanding opportunities to deliver business and IT education to more students.

The Program

HP Learning Initiative for Entrepreneurs (HP LIFE) is a global program that trains students, aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners to harness the power of IT to establish and grow their businesses. Check it out here! http://www.life-global.org/

Online and offline training

HP LIFE combines face-to-face training and online tools to address the educational needs of students, regardless of their backgrounds, locations or circumstances. These virtual tools and games allow students to access training virtually anywhere.

All online training, tools and resources are free for students. For more information, call Emmanuel Smith in Lexington at 859-231-0054 or esmith@cvcky.org or Bob Heil in Louisville at 502-566-6076 or rheil@cvcky.org.
