Yes You Can Homebuyer Education

Yes You Can: Own a Home: An in-depth course, also sponsored by Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC), teaches process of homeownership. Yes You Can is a beneficial tool for first time homebuyers. Topics covered in this course include: budget, credit, the mortgage loan process, finding the right house, loan closing, foreclosure prevention, and basic home maintenance. Free of cost.

Credit Smart

Credit Smart: This informative course aids in understanding credit, its purpose, and how it can affect many aspects of a consumer's life. Credit Smart aims to teach the principles of credit and clarify misconceptions on credit. Free of cost.

Budget and Credit

Budget and Credit: An interactive course highlighting the importance of budget and credit to consumers. Budgeting is the foundation for achieving financial goals, and credit must be understood in order to make wise financial decisions. This course, sponsored by Kentucky Housing Corporation (KHC), provides the facts and information consumers need to understand money, budgeting, credit, and its proper management. Free of cost.

Financial Fitness - Getting You On Budget

Are you interested in finding out more about banks and other financial institutions? Do you have concerns about financial planning and money management? Want to learn more about saving and investing, taxes and insurance. Do you need help understanding your credit. Then, this is the class for you.

Business Education Opportunities

Business Planning & Feasibility Course

This 4-5 week course is designed for those individuals who have a specific business idea in mind as the course will cover the basics of how to research a potential business opportunity and write a business plan. You MUST attend Business Basics Workshop to be eligible for the Jumpstart Loan. This course is $20 and is held in our Lexington office at the following times:

Using eBay to Start or Expand a Small Business

More than two million people access eBay on a daily basis.  This class introduces you to the basics of selling merchandise on eBay with a step-by-step breakdown of how to list, ship and receive payments.  This class is offered in partnership with the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development.  This class is scheduled for July 22nd from 5:30 to 8:30pm.  The course fee is $25.00.

Small Business Training

CVC’s stair-step approach to small business development provides assistance to entrepreneurs in all stages of development who are unable to secure business training and lending through traditional sources.  Training is provided through both classroom and individual technical assistance.
